Jerome dedicated his life to his family, his work, and to serving others. Coming from a family of four children and a large extended family, Jerome held his loved ones close to his heart and treasured the strong bonds he shared with them. Family was always at the center of his life.
Jerome began his career at Vroman Foods and later worked at General Mills, where he transferred to Buffalo in 1992. He would go on to build both his career and his life there, eventually retiring from General Mills. Fondly known as "Jerry" to his many friends and colleagues, he truly embraced Buffalo as his home and became a proud Buffalonian.
While away from work, he was an avid outdoorsman. Jerome loved hunting, fishing, camping and boating. Jerome and Cathie enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, traveling to Europe, and touring breweries. They enjoyed riding bikes on Sunday afternoons. Jerome also loved playing cards, watching NASCAR, was a passionate foodie, playing tour guide to visitors and adored his adopted puppy Addie.
Service to others was one of Jerome's greatest passions. His involvement with organizations such as the Knights of Columbus Council 17530, the Swormville Fire Company, Woodgate Condo Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio and Western New York brought him some of his proudest and most meaningful moments.
Jerome dedicated countless hours to Make-A-Wish, helping grant hundreds of life-changing wishes through his generosity, compassion and deep commitment to children facing critical health challenges. He served for many years on the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish WNY and was a passionate and devoted wish granter - often taking on wishes in rural communities where support was harder to find. His kindness touched many families, including wish child Caylee and her mother Emily, along with so many others whose lives were forever changed by his care and dedication.
Jerome's giving spirit, gentle heart and genuine concern for others left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and calling him friend. Through his acts of kindness and service, he truly left the world a better place.
In addition to family, Jerome leaves behind dear and loyal friends, Jim, Vic, Rick, Bob, Mike, Crystal, Gigi, Kris and countless more.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
