POZZUTO, Joan Marie (nee Unger)

Of West Seneca, died suddenly Monday, February 3, 2025. Joan was born August 11, 1933 in Hamburg, New York to Joseph and Mabel (nee Braniff) Unger. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Pozzuto; and her siblings, Bruce, Phyllis, Joseph, and John. She is survived by her children, Darlene (Derek) Murphy and Anthony (Margaret Mary) Pozzuto; grandchildren, Sarah (Alexander) Pozzuto Segelhurst, David, Miranda, Nicholas, and Michael Pozzuto; siblings, Francis Unger and Virginia (Raymond) Willis; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Joan was a doting “Mimi,” excellent baker and gardener, and talented artist. She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Sunday (February 9) from 9-1PM. A funeral service will immediately follow. An interment at Lakeside Cemetery will be held on Monday morning at 10AM. Please assemble at the cemetery’s main entrance.
