Joan Marie Schmitt

Joan Marie Schmitt, 97, of Buffalo, entered into rest on January 8, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert J. and Loretta (nee Ress) Schmitt. Joan was a Paralegal at the law firm of Magavern, Magavern & Grimm, starting immediately after she graduated from high school and retiring in her early 70s. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed reading and traveling. She was a member of The College Club of Buffalo where she made many lifelong friends. She is survived by her friend, Patricia Miller. In addition to her parents, her cousin, Geraldine Halbig, precedes in death. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1029 Delaware Ave., Buffalo on Tuesday, January 14 at 9:30am (please assemble at church). Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
