Our beloved JoEtta King passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of Thursday, February 13, 2024, while being held in her daughters arms. JoEtta was born in Buffalo, NY on December 19, 1957 to parents Joan (Brocco) and Joseph King. She received all of her schooling through high school in Buffalo, NY. JoEtta worked a number of different jobs until becoming a nurse, and possibly the best nurse Buffalo has ever seen. She did her job not only with pride, but with an unmeasurable amount of love. She made an impact everywhere she worked, she was always loved and adored by her patients and staff. Outside of being a nurse, JoEtta was a creative. One thing that has stayed true to her for her entire life is her love for sewing and crafting. She could whip up an outfit in a single day and turn some towels and tin cans into the most beautiful toilet paper holders for your bathroom. JoEtta has the most amazing ability to see the beauty in junk and turn it into treasure. To know JoEtta was to know a one-of-a-kind love. Her smile could light up a room while her undeniable wit and humor filled it with laughter. Her whole life, JoEtta has put others before herself. Always there when her family needed her, ready to provide a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. For everyone that knew her, she was a safe place. Her love has always been quiet yet powerful. As the eldest daughter, JoEtta shared a special unique bond with her mother and two younger sisters. All of which, she held close to her heart. JoEtta held many roles throughout her life but her role as mother and grandmother/Granny meant the entire world to her. The way she loved her children and grandchildren will remain with them forever and it is through them that her legacy will continue. Let JoEttas love serve as an inspiration to love fully. Remember her for the light that she brought to this world and whenever you sit down to enjoy a delicious meal think of her and smile. JoEtta was preceded in death by her father (Joseph E. King, 1988), daughter (Joanne King, 1975), and son (Joseph E. King II, 2017). She leaves behind to mourn and cherish her memories a son Stephen King, a daughter Kayla King, her mother, Joan King, granddaughter Amiyah King, grandson Carmello Gary, grandson Zachariah King, granddaughter Annalise King, sisters Anne King, Pamela King and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
