Beloved husband of the late Barbara Ann (nee Dooley) Cavanaugh; devoted father of John (Mary) Cavanaugh, Stephen (Gail) Cavanaugh; cherished grandfather of James (Danielle), Joseph (Sherry), Miriam (Joseph), Paul (Tammy), Michael (Andrea) and Laura (Chowdry); fond great-grandfather of 13 great-grandchildren; loving son of the late James and Leota (nee Bisonette) Cavanaugh; also survived by relatives and friends. John served in the US Navy during WW II.
