Evans, John T. “Dooley” of Buffalo, entered into rest on May 20,2026. Beloved husband of Cherie (nee Phillips) Evans; devoted step-father of Macie (TJ) Giczkowski and Sean Eberth; cherished grandfather of Hudson, Nash and Crew; loving son of the late Mary Lee and John Evans; dear brother of Mary Evans and Annie Evans; fond uncle of Bryan Evans; also loved by many lifelong friends. John was a dedicated law enforcement professional, initially working with the NYS Department of Corrections, then over two decades with the Buffalo Police Department and most recently with the Erie County Sheriff's Office. He enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, golfing, hunting and spending time at Cuba Lake with his family and friends. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 3148 Abbott Rd., Orchard Park on Tuesday (May 26) at 10 o’clock. Flowers graciously declined, donations can be made to Bishop Timon High School and Erie County SPCA.
