Of Lackawanna, entered into rest July 3, 2010, beloved husband of Margaret (nee Colligan) Herniak; devoted father of Stephen (Karen) Herniak, Michael (Lorraine) Herniak and the late Sharon Ann Herniak; cherished grandfather of James Herniak, Shannon (Daniel) Jensen, Jennifer Forbes, Laura (Chris) Hartzel, Leslie Monckton and Dawn (Bill) Cronmiller; adored great-grandfather of Nathan, Natalie, Michael, Lanie, Ryan, Zoe and Lillian; loving son of the late Steven and Anna (nee Andreko) Herniak; dear brother of Dorothy (late Edward) Kowalczyk, Jean (Dan) King and the late Steven Herniak, Anna (late James) Wilk, Helen (late Leonard) Lohr and Catherine Herniak; also survived by relatives and friends.
