John Lee Rivers

Our Father, John Lee Rivers at the age of 89, unexpectedly passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home in Lewiston, NY, with his family by his side. He was born January 5, 1933 in Butler County, Alabama to the late Earlie and Rosie Lee (Salter). Rivers. He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae (Travis) Rivers and he is the older brother to Gloria James, Surlines M. (Jerry) Brown, and Catherine Rivers, all of Niagara Falls, NY, and preceded by Joe L, (Angie) Rivers; Cornelius Rivers. John leaves to cherish his memories to his two children, Arthur (Dorothy) Johnson and Lisa Pearson; his stepchildren, Eugene B. Lett Jr., Jean McClain, Doris (Clifford) Hill, and his son in law Ricardo Brown which is preceded by Victoria Brown. He also leaves special memories to his four grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends. He moved at the age of eight to Buffalo with his family and settled in Niagara Falls NY and worked many years at General Abrasive Treibacher Inc and retired. Known for his musical talent with playing the Saxophone, Piano, and Organ, Johns lyrical vocals excelled within the Jazz genre and provided joy and entertainment to those fortunate to be enriched by his music. We continue to celebrate Johns Life on Monday, August 8th starting at 2pm, at Lombardo Funeral Home located at 102 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14209, with services to follow at 3pm. Family and Friends will eat together after the services.
