ROONEY - John F. Of West Seneca, entered into rest January 20, 2022. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Sarach) Rooney; devoted father of Matthew (Leigha) Rooney, Anthony Rooney, Andrew (Suzanne) Smolkovich, Jennifer (Mark) Wallace, Steven Smolkovich, John and Timothy Rooney; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Smolkovich, Luke and Aidan Wallace; loving son of the late Francis and Ellarita Rooney; dear brother of James (late Eleanor) Rooney and the late Thomas Rooney; also survived by relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Monday from 2-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 3148 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Tuesday morning at 10 oclock. (Please assemble at church). Interment St. Matthews Cemetery. Mr. Rooney served in the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Buffalo or the Parkinsons Foundation of Western New York in Johns name.
