John Ruggiero

Entered into rest on November 7, 2021, after a brief illness in South Carolina with his children by his side. Born May 7th, 1944 in Buffalo, NY to the late Giovanni and Philomena Ruggiero; loving father of Kristie Sugg and John (Teresa) Ruggiero; cherished grandfather of Robert McNamara, Emily Sugg, Mathew Sugg and great-grandfather of Robert RJ youngest brother of the late Margaret, Grace (Komo), Alfonso, Salvatore, and Carmen; also survived by nieces and nephews. Since retiring from Bethlehem Steel Plant, he spent most of his time golfing and volunteering at area hospitals including Mercy and Roswell Hospital of Buffalo and then after he moved Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital in Myrtle Beach. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., Orchard Park, near Lake Ave., on Thursday, from 3-7 PM, for a gathering in Johns memory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna, on Friday morning at 10:30 oclock. Please assemble at Church. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Cancer Society.
