THURSTON, John H. of Orchard Park, entered into rest August 22, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Alice K. (nee Wilkins) Thurston; devoted father of John H. Thurston Jr., Kathleen Bergquist, and Anne Marie (Vince) O’Connor; cherished grandfather of Kyle (Jessica) Parrott, Jason (Madi) Bergquist, Jacob (Autumn) Bergquist, Grace O’Connor, and James O’Connor; adored great-grandfather of Malachi; loving son of the late Harold and Anna Thurston; dear brother of Diane (late James) Hofner, Joan (late Bill) Markle, Sue (late Ken) Renowden, late Dolores (late George) O’Donnell, and the late Tom (Paula) Thurston; also survived by family and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Friday (September 5th) from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church, 2950 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Please assemble at Church. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s honor may be made to Hospice Care of Buffalo.
