She changed her profession from health care, to working with children at a church school program; and later worked at the Northwest Buffalo Community Center Youth Department, where she remained for more than thirty (30) years. She was a Supervisor at their game room and front desk. She also cooked for their Annual Thanksgiving Feast for over fifteen (15) years. This feast was sponsored by the NFL Buffalo Bills Team.

Juanita really loved children, movies, soap operas, music and a variety of games. She also loved her arts and crafts projects, such as plastic canvas, beaded necklaces, etc.

Juanita was an avid watcher of football games and a fan of her favorite Team, the Buffalo Bills! She was known by several names: Mom, Nita, ‘Big Sexy’, and Mrs. Anderson & Consuela. She was a Mom, friend, Auntie, Sister, Cousin, and Grandmother, not just to her biological family, but also her church family and her community. Her best ‘other name’, was the ‘Chicken Lady’; nobody could touch her fried chicken!! There was no exact chicken recipe; she simply put in her mixture a little of this, and a little of that, and mixed it with a lot of love!!!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Esther Fears; her brother Ruben; and sisters Cheryl and Vivian.
