Judith A. Beckwith (nee Hummel)
April 29, 1962-March 13, 2026
Of Hamburg, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was a loving family member and dedicated professional whose warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched many lives. She cherished time with her husband, family, and friends, finding joy in everyday moments and shared adventures. Judy loved being outdoors – golfing, bike riding, tending her garden, and finding a beach or sunset. She also enjoyed hosting and cooking at home and rarely passed up an opportunity to gather for a cocktail and shared conversation. An avid reader and skilled communicator, Judy was deeply committed to her career as Marketing Director at Lu Engineers and was a dedicated member of her community and professional organizations (Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Village of Hamburg Business Advisory Council, NY State County Highway Superintendent’s Association, BEAM).
A devoted wife of 29 years to her husband, Thomas E. Beckwith; loving daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Hummel. Judy always made people feel special, whether family or friends—dear sister of Janice (Thom Piniewski) Burns; step mom to Kevin (Sarah) Beckwith, Kelly (Shannon Brown) Beckwith, and “Nana” to Katie Beckwith; loving aunt of Adam (Kari) Kurtzhalts, Eric (Natalie) Burns, Lauren (Daniel) Ciullo, Brandon Burns, Erin Burns, Taylor (Will Homan) Burns; loving great-aunt to Emily, Anna, Cassidy, Shea, Ryan, Griffin, Kyle, and Quinn.
Judy lovingly wrapped her arms around many friends, including life-long Club Girls, Book Club, fellow Bills-watching fans, and Lu Engineer colleagues, especially Cletus (Chinyere) Ezenwa. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date. To honor Judy’s memory, please make donations to Sloan Comfort Care Home, 17 Gierlach St., Sloan, NY, 14212, www.comfortcarewny.org.
