Kathleen (Keresztes) Fava of Lockport NY passed away Monday November 20th 2023. Kathleen was born on November 18th 1950 in Szentgotthard, Hungary. Kathleen came to the US during the Hungarian Revolution with her family who settled in Danbury CT. Kathleen was wed to Ralph J Fava Jr in 1979 and settled in Lockport NY to start their family and local business. Together they opened The Lockport Music Center in 1985. Kathleen had a long career at Lockport Memorial Hospital for 23 years. After retirement Kathleen worked at Advantage Physical Therapy part-time where she made many friends and fond memories. Kathleen lived for her family and others. Her hobbies included writing short stories, reading, art & painting. She had a lively sense of humor and was always making others laugh and smile. She volunteered regularly and was a Religious Education Teacher at St Joseph's Church for over 12 years. She loved teaching and children and was a great educator as she was full of knowledge to share. Her fondest achievement was raising her 2 daughters with Ralph Fava. She will be deeply missed by many & will always remain in our hearts & memories. She was predeceased by her loving Husband Ralph J Fava Jr, (10/09/18) as well as her Mother Elvira Hary, Father Joseph Hary, her sister Margaret McMahon, and brother-in-law Theodore McMahon. Kathleen leaves behind her daughters Katherine Rankin (Tanner Rankin) and Maria Madeline Fava (Joseph DiTucci). Kathleen is also survived by her sisters Agnes Dell (Charles Dell), Sue Black, (Ted Black) In-Laws Ralph Fava Sr. & Madeline Fava, sister in law Tamre Varallo, (Nick Varallo) brother in law Chris Fava, & Joe Fava, (Lana Novik) along with many loved nieces, nephews, extended family, friends & colleagues. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 15th at 10:00 am at All Saints Roman Parish at 76 Church St, Lockport NY 14094. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations in honor of Kathleen to one of her favorite charities The Red Cross.
