WHELAN, Kevin M. of South Buffalo, entered into rest October 18, 2025. Beloved son of the late Robert J. Whelan and Margaret (Southard). Youngest of 10 he was a devoted brother of the late Patricia (late James) Parker, Late James, Mary (late John) Halldin, late John, late Thomas (late Ruth), Gerald (Illeane), late Robert (Debra), Paul (Molly),and Margaret Page. Kevin is a graduate of Canisius High School and attended Canisius University and University at Buffalo receiving his Masters degree in History. Kevin retired as Director from the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority and remained active with the Board of Retirees. Kevin was an avid traveler visiting 23 countries and served as trustee for the Hillcrest Seniors Travel Club. He loved his “breakfast club” from Our Lady of Victory where until his illness attended daily mass. Kevin had the love and devotion of 23 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews. His generosity and devotion to his many friends and family members will be cherished. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna on Monday, October 27th at 9am (Mass will be live streamed). Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions in Kevin’s memory may be made to Hospice of Buffalo or Our Lady of Victory Special Maintenance Collection. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel).
