Lateyfa Bouldin was born on November 26, 1935, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Jauharah (Wadood) Jackson and J.D. Gresham. She later relocated to Buffalo, New York, where she met and married the late Robert Bouldin Sr. in 1954

Lateyfa received her education through the Buffalo Public Schools system. She dedicated her professional life to serving adults with disabilities at the West Seneca Developmental Center, where she worked faithfully for 33 years before retiring in 1996. Her compassion, patience, and commitment touched the lives of countless individuals and families throughout her career

At an early age, Lateyfa gave her life to Christ and accepted Him as her personal Savior. She worshiped at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Marshall L. Littlejohn and later at Metropolitan United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Angela Stewart. She was a devoted and faithful member, serving in numerous ministries and leadership roles. She sang joyfully with the United Methodist Choir, Voices of Methodism, and the United Voices Choir. She also served as President of the Disciples, the Youth and Young Adult Usher Board, the Praise Line Dance Ministry, and was a dedicated member of the Finance Committee.

Lateyfa enjoyed many hobbies and passions throughout her life. One of her greatest joys was preparing large Sunday meals for family and friends. She was a talented seamstress who lovingly made her own clothing, prom dresses, and usher uniforms for the Youth and Young Adult Usher Board. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening, and cultivating a wide variety of vegetables. As the matriarch of her family, she treasured every opportunity to spend time with her loved ones and create lasting memories.

Lateyfa was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert Bouldin Sr.; her daughter, Kathleen A. Watson; her sisters, Marayama Wadood and Arleemah Walker; and her brothers, Joseph Baldock and Sadood Wadood.

A light to all who knew her, Lateyfa's kindness, faith, wisdom, and loving spirit will be deeply missed. After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, she peacefully departed this life and entered into the presence of the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Barakah Rice-Mitchell (the late Carl Mitchell); her daughter, Robiah Arkel; her sons, Robert Bouldin Jr. (Donna) and Ebban Bouldin; her nine grandchildren: Robert Bouldin III (Shamaika), Kareema Arkel-Yates (Antonio), Lateyfa Ware (Channell), Dorrial Bouldin, Donte Archibald (Keisha), Najjia Bouldin, Donte Archibald (Keisha), Justin Carr;Rhydell Griffin (Anitra), Rachica Walton (Johnathan), and 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved relatives; and two closet friends, Bernice Headley and Betty Law.

Though we mourn her loss here on earth, we find comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing in heaven—praising the Lord and sharing a loving reunion with her mother, Leema, Marty, Saood, Kathy, and all those who have gone before her.
