Laura Lynn Murphy

Passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday May 23, 2023. She was born on September 29, 1959 in Lackawanna N.Y. Daughter of the late Elizabeth Amidon Burke Sorce Mulkern and her stepfather Thomas "Scotty" Mulkern. Laura attended Frontier Central before earning her General Equivalency Diploma and then achieving her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She worked at Buffalo General Hospital and Our Lady of Victory Head Trauma Unit caring for those severly injured patients with kind compassion as well as Buffalo Brain & Spine as a Medical biller and finally with University of Buffalo Neurosurgery as a Workmans Compensation Specialist. She loved photography and music and was happiest in life as she Coled an amazing group of "Specially Abeled" Christian Worshippers called Shepherds Troupe out of the Tabernacle in Orchard Park N.Y. She was a fierce advocate for the Rights of the Disabled as she fought lifelong for her sons Justin Thomas Murphy care, dignity and life. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Timothy Murphy, her children Justin Murphy of Derby, N.Y., and Lauren Murphy of Buffalo, N.Y. and was preceded into the entrance of Heaven by her late son John Michael Murphy. The greatest joy of her life by far was her only Grandson, Adam Thomas Murphy Ferrelli. She had 7 siblings Deborah (Gary) Vacanti, Gina (John) Coniglio, Michael (Susan) Sorce, Maria (Roger) Vergien, Patricia (Larry) Durham, John (Holly) Mulkern, and Elizabeth (John) Bermingham. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.Relatives and friends may visit the Southtowns Christian Center, 6619 Southwestern Blvd., LakeView on Tuesday (May 30) from 10-12PM.
