Lawrence Collins, Jr.

Lawrence Collins, Jr. Entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 29, 2022. Lawrence was born on August 16, 1938, in Birmingham, AL to Lela Nation Collins and Lawrence Collins, Sr. He grew up in Kimberly, AL and attended Elementary and Jr. High School in Warrior, AL and attended Hooper City High School in Sayreton, AL. At an early age he became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kimberly, AL, until moving away to Buffalo, NY in 1956. In Buffalo he became a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He became employed at the Bethlehem Steel Lackawanna Plant in 1956 and was employed there as a police officer for 26 years. He was also employed by the Town of Hamburg Youth Department for 17 years until retirement. He enjoyed fishing and family. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pearl L. Collins. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Alicia, Lawrence (Carol), and Curtis (Nan), Grand and Great-Grand Children, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, and a host of other family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10:00 oclock in Lakeside Cemetery, 4810 Camp Road (Route 75) just northwest on Route 20, Hamburg, NY.
