Leo David Smith

October 1, 1941 — May 15, 2020

SMITH - Leo David Of Wilson, entered into rest May 15, 2020, at the age of 78. Leo was born October 1, 1941 in Lockport, NY, to Chauncy William and Mary (nee Rogers) Smith. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Empire State College and retired from General Motors, Inc. On July 1, 1971, he married Miriam Elaine Pauley and they raised three children, Colleen, Brett and Ben. A man of many talents, such as drawing, writing, carving and more. Leos curiosity and desire to learn allowed him to continue to grow throughout his life. Those who were blessed to spend time around Leo, knew that his true artistic mastery was performing music. He attacked everything he did with passion and energy, and music was how he let that passion flow for the rest of us to enjoy. Leos unparalleled loyalty to those he loved and his life-long sense of quiet integrity will continue to teach and lead those whose hearts he has touched. In 1995, Leo found the Lord and he never looked back. Most recently, Leo was a member and volunteer with the Wilson Conservation Club, The Focus Group of Living Water, a volunteer at Newfane Nursing Home (playing music, of course!) and was instrumental in the Local Mens Bible Study. Leo is survived by his wife Miriam; his three children; his grandkids (Heather, Stephen, Jordan, Victor, Evan, Ava and Liam) and six great-grandchildren. No prior visitation. A Remembrance Celebration will be held once medical and social conditions allow for a safe gathering of friends and family. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel).
