Lillian A. Benton

Benton, Lillian A. (ne Wurm) Age 81, of Tonawanda, NY, died on July 31, 2016. Born in Buffalo on February 7, 1935, daughter of Alois and Francis (Neumaier) Wurm, she graduated from Holy Angels Academy and D'Youville College, and received a Master's Degree from SUNY Buffalo. Lil was an elementary school teacher with Buffalo Public Schools, having taught at School #23 and at School #17. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Sudduth; her son-in-law William; grandchildren, Marie Amelia and Benjamin Albert Edloe; her sister, Mary Ann Roeser; her niece and nephew, and their families. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of over 58 years, Edmund Benton, who died on July 18, 2016. A memorial service for Lillian and Edmund will be held at St. Michael's Church, Washington St., Buffalo, on Saturday, September 10, 2016, 5:15 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to: The Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Blvd. Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
