DIAKOS, Louis K. - Of Amherst, entered into rest February 13, 2023. Beloved husband of 65 years to Deanna (nee Doerr) Diakos; devoted father of Maria (Michael) Manolitsas and Klay (Christine) Diakos; loving son of the late Klearchos and Maria (nee Paris) Diakoumakos; dear brother of the late Bessie Halkias, late James Diakos and the late Clara Kosmas; adored brother-in-law of Kathleen Pawlak and Stacy Diakos and the late Daniel Doerr; also survived by nieces and nephews. Louis was a past Commander of the Jurek American Legion Post, past Commander of the Amherst Post VFW 416, past Erie County VFW Commander, past member of the Korean War Veterans Association and an active member at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., near Eggert/Sheridan Dr. on Wednesday (February 15) from 4-6PM. A funeral service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 146. W. Utica St. (at Delaware Ave.) Buffalo on Thursday morning at 10AM. Please assemble at Church. Interment Elmlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis name to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
