Lynn K. Licata, born December 26, 1937, passed away quietly in her sleep on the morning of July 18, 2025, at Elderwood Rehab. She was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Herta (Retter) Kent, and her brother Alan. She also lost her companion cat, Curious.
Lynn was the proud mother of Cindy (Michael) Scibilia, Mary Ann (late Bill) Rutherford, Tom Licata, Alison (Kevin) Potter and Christopher Licata; grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of twenty! Never missing a birthday, Lynn was thoughtful in sending out cards to her many loved ones and friends. She often called one of her kids and requested more postage stamps, as her family grew.
Lynn had a curious and inquisitive mind. She enjoyed reading about many things including current events. In her day-to-day encounters, she would be complimentary to others to befriend them, always saying 'love your earrings or where did you get that sweater?'. She was also an excellent seamstress.
When she retired as a legal secretary, she endeavored to open a gift shoppe, Llama Gifts, at Marine Drive complex, where she lived almost 50 years. Lynn also loved animals and was often inquiring about the pets of others. She would make donations to charitable organizations whose mission was the care of animals. In addition, Lynn loved her time as a long-term volunteer at Buffalo General Hospital, where she touched many lives and made many friends.
Besides her children and grandchildren, Lynn had a supportive and loving extended family and loyal friends.
There will be no service, but the family appreciates your love and support.
