Marcia S. Diemunsch (née Tripi) of Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at the age of 85, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family, all of whom spent time at her bedside during her final days, offering comfort and prayers. Born on June 20, 1941, in Buffalo, NY, Marcia lived a life defined by kindness, devotion, and a gentle, steady presence that made others feel cared for and at ease.

Marcia was the cherished daughter of the late Genevieve T. (Kozlowski) Tripi and Santo A. Tripi, and beloved sister of Joseph (Rebecca) Tripi and the late Michael (Rosemary) Tripi.

A devoted mother, she was preceded in death by her sons Robert G. Altemus and Jeffrey S. (Sheila) Altemus and is survived by her daughter Jennifer L. Altemus.

Marcia took great pride in her more than 30-year career with General Mills Corporation, where she worked with dedication and integrity until her retirement.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving grandmother to Jeffrey (Lynae) Altemus Jr., Jessica Altemus, Jenna Altemus, and Lauren (Nate) N. Rey, and a proud great‑grandmother to Robert Altemus, Jeffrey Altemus III, Elizabeth Altemus, Kylisa Wurthmann, Braden Diebel, Willow Cedeno, Penelope Cedeno, Kai Fears, Azrael Fears, Adriana N. Bueme, and Sarissa Rey. Each of them will continue to live in Marcia's legacy, carrying forward the love, faith, and gentle strength she instilled in her family.

She was a devoted godmother to Christine Caggiano, Lisa Lark, Dr. Brian King, and Michael Tripi, faithfully fulfilling her godparent calling with prayer, encouragement, and the steady spiritual support that reflected her deep Catholic faith.

Marcia also treasured her lifelong friendships with Harriet Scinta Pepe and Betty Coccia. Together, they shared decades of laughter, support, and travel adventures across the country and around the world - memories that remained among her most cherished blessings.

A woman of deep faith, Marcia was a practicing Catholic and a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Kenmore, NY. Her spirituality guided her life, and her gentle compassion reflected the values she held close to her heart.

Marcia will be remembered for her kindness, her loving nature, and the way her presence brought comfort to those around her. She touched the lives of her family and friends with warmth, understanding, and unwavering devotion.

Her family finds peace knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and held in God's eternal embrace. 

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, near Eggert Rd./ Sheridan Dr., Tuesday (August 4) from 4-8 PM, where prayers will be said Wednesday morning (August 5) at 8:30 AM. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 263 Claremont Ave., Tonawanda, Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM.
