Margaret Bowes

BOWES - Margaret Of Williamsville, entered peacefully into rest on June 27, 2018; loving daughter of the late Alice and James Bowes; dear sister of Fr. James J. Bowes, S.J. and John (Irene) Bowes; cherished aunt of Kevin and James. Margaret was born November 9, 1937; graduated from Vincentian High School in Albany, NY and earned a Bachelor of Science and Nursing degree from D'Youville College and a Masters degree from the University of Buffalo. She was a member of the National and State Nursing Associations. She served as a lecturer in preventative medicine at the University of Buffalo and as a Clinical Assistant in Child Health at the UB School of Nursing. She also served as a District Chairperson and Public Health Nurse for the State Nurses Association and as Director of Buffalo Regional Supervisors of Community Health Nurses. Margaret retired from the Erie County Department of Health. No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Williamsville, on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to the Jesuit Priests, St. Michael's Church, 651 Washington St., Buffalo, NY 14203.
