Marie Ann Bertoloni

Of Buffalo, NY, entered into rest on July 29, 2025.

Born on December 14, 1931, in Buffalo, Marie was the cherished daughter of Carl and Pauline Cassaro and the beloved sister of the late Eugene (Donna) Cassaro.

A graduate of Holy Angels Academy, she continued her education at D’Youville College and later at Stratford Business School. Marie devoted her life to helping others—first as an aide at Columbus Hospital, and then as a dedicated teacher’s aide at PS #54 for 25 years, where she touched the lives of countless students through her guidance in reading and math.

Marie met her husband, Carmelo “Carmen” Bertoloni, at the grocery store owned by her parents. They were married on April 18, 1953, and together built a life centered around love, family, and faith. She was the devoted mother of Barbara (Terry) Scott and Anthony (Maryanne Marcolivio) Bertoloni, and the proud grandmother of Kristen and Nicholas Bertoloni.

Marie and Carmen especially enjoyed their annual visits out west to spend meaningful time with their children in Arizona and California—moments they treasured dearly.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Marie is survived by her dear niece, Jami (Stephen) Cassaro DiRose, along with extended family and lifelong friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst on Friday, August 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, followed immediately by a funeral service. Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
