Of Buffalo, entered into rest on July 3, 2026. Mary Frances Armstrong was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was born August 16th, 1939 to Elizabeth McDaniel and Harrison McDaniel in Detroit, MI. and attended Detroit Public Schools and attended Buffalo Public School East High. Mary got married at 19 years old to Archie Armstrong on October 1st 1958 to this union they had 3 children Tanya Armstrong, Ahmed Armstrong, and Janine Wallace.

Mary held various jobs with Fibron Products and Children Hospital. Her hobbies included bowling as she was in different leagues for years averaging 200 points per game. And she loved bingo traveling back and forth to Canada. Mary Affectionately referred to as “Granny” She was everyone’s Granny and took honor in that role.

Mary gracefully completed her earthly assignment on July 3rd 2026. She will forever be remembered for her style, her honesty, her realness and her distinguished laugh. Preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her brother Calvin McDaniel; her sister’s Elizabeth “Betty” McDaniel, Dorothy “Dottie” McDaniel her nephews Keith Taylor, Douglas “Poochie” McDaniel, Jeremy Lockard her honorary grandchild Raquel Stokes. She leaves many cherished memories behind.

Saddened by her passing but celebrating her life is her sister Carlene Lockard, daughters Tanya Armstrong, Janine (John) Wallace, son Ahmed (Deirdre) Armstrong, God-Son Charles Woods Jr. Grandchildren Kahlil Armstrong, Qadriyyah Thompson, Shakir Pettis, Jordan Wallace, Joshua Wallace Great Grandchildren Haniyah Dunlap, Kahlil Armstrong Jr, Ayanna Armstrong, Angelo Pettis, Duriel Price, Taylor Pettis, Cameron Armstrong, Zachery Armstrong Honorary Grandchildren Tierra “Peaches” Tolbert, Robin Desoto, Erica McDaniel, Sharlisa Moore Rose, Eric Heard and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may attend a gathering in Mary's memory at the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Snyder Chapel) 4614 Main St., near Harlem Rd., on Friday July 10, from 4-5 PM where a Home Going Service will immediately follow at 5 PM.
