Entered into rest May 1, 2026. Beloved husband of Rachael L. (nee O'Donnell) Barrett; devoted father of Owen, Hayden and Raven Barrett; dog dad of Skye Barrett; loving son of Debra L. (nee Scarsella) Barrett and William and Carol Barrett Jr.; dear brother of Melissa (Jorge) Santiago; dearest son in law of James and Lori O'Donnell; fond brother in law of James (Lindsey) O'Donnell; cherished uncle of Jessiah, Evangeline, Luna, Scarlett, Lucas and Robert; adored grandson of Lewis and Mary Scarsella and the late Mary Barrett; Dearest friends of Matthew Kasprzak, Josh Cullen and his law enforcement family; also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Matthew served as a US Marine and a New York State Trooper. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to his community. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and a steady, reliable presence to those who knew him. His strength of character, sense of humor, and the pride he took in his family and his work left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

Matthew's passing is a profound loss to all who knew and loved him. His memory will be carried forward in the lives of his family, friends, and colleagues, and in the many moments shared with him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Relatives and friends may visit the Revive Wesleyan Church, 4999 McKinley Pkwy., Hamburg on Monday (5/11) from 3:00 - 8:00 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday (5/12) at 11:00 am.
