Melita Medina

It is with a great sadness that the family of Melita Medina announces her sudden passing on Monday, September 30 after battling cancer for a year at the age of 68. She passed away peacefully in home surrounded by family. Melita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years Hiplito(deceased), Her children; Netza & Bonito, Her grandchildren; Tajanique, Netza Jr, Bonito Jr, Lacieniga, Key'Arei, Caleb, Zoey, Emili-ana, Great Grandchild Samaya and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Melita was predeceased by her parents, James H Daniels and Juanita Booker/Fagan as well as her siblings Lamont Fagan, Denise Bigham/Davis and James H Daniels Junior. Melita was born in Buffalo New York on October 10, 1955, to James H Daniels and Juanita Booker/Fagan. She graduated from Bennett high school she received a cosmetology certificate at Continental School of Beauty & Culture. She also earned an associate's degree in basic education at Buffalo State College. After graduating high school, she met Hiplito. The two would go on to date and eventually get married in the summer of 1976. Melita and Hiplito welcomed son Netza in 1979 followed shortly after by son Bonito in 1983. Melta was a devoted, wife and mother. After the passing of her husband in 1991 she moved back to Buffalo from Texas to be with family and raise her two sons. She retired from target and went on to work for Buffalo Public schools. Melita was a woman of many passions, including art, music, cooking, raising her children and later on in life, her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her children and siblings as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
