McLeod, Michael J. Jan 30, 1943 Dec 9, 2024 A cherished family man and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in 1943 to Joseph and Mary McLeod (nee Ryan), Michael was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Michael was the devoted husband of the late Millie McLeod (nee Rizzuto) and a loving father to Maureen (Dave), Joseph, the late Michael Ryan, and Michael Forbes. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Michelle, Joseph (Liz), Laura, Melissa (Tim), Michael, and David, and his great-grandchildren Ava, Madison, Audrey, Mila, Joseph, Jackson, and Cameron; also shared a companionship with Norma. He was a cherished brother to Peggy (Fred), Jimmy (Lynn), Kathleen (Roger), Joe (Betty), Mary (Gene), Joyce (Fred), Linda (Ron), Patrick (Kathy), Robert (Nancy), and Theresa (Joe), forming a close-knit family that supported one another through life's journey. Michael's professional life was marked by his steadfast commitment to the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 424. His dedication to advocating for workers' rights and improving conditions for his colleagues was a testament to his strong sense of justice and community service. Over the years, he served in various leadership roles, including committee man, committee man at large, chairman, and president, until his retirement in 2001. Michael's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his contributions to his family and community will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of those he touched. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Friday (December 13) from 4-7PM. A funeral service will immediately follow.
