Michael C. Reading

Michael Charles Reading, affectionately known as Mike, passed away on September 5, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, after a brave battle with cancer. Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Cindy, his son, Fraser, the late Eric (Danielle), grandsons Daniel, Jacob, and Grayson, great-grandsons Zane and Zaiden, brother, Pete, sister, Lisa, and stepbrothers, Simon and Tim, as well as a number of loved nieces and nephews. Born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England, to Robert and Sheila, Mike developed a love for sports during his youth, representing his school in various athletic endeavors. Later in life, he channeled this passion into coaching rugby, mentoring young players, instilling in them his love for the game and valuable life lessons. Mike's commitment to excellence extended to his 30-year career with the Hampshire Constabulary, where he earned commendations from the Queen for his exemplary service as a Controller/Dispatcher. In the United States, Mike embraced new opportunities and held various positions at Hunts Real Estate, H&R Block, and Seneca Casino. Mike continued working until his health no longer allowed. Visitation will be held on September 23, 2023, from 2pm to 7pm. The celebration of his life will take place on September 24, 2023, at 10:30am.
