Michael J. Scamacca March 26, 1936 February 7, 2024 Scamacca, Michael J., 87, of Tonawanda, entered into rest on February 7, 2024. Beloved husband of 30 years to Toni (nee Cirifalco) Scamacca; devoted father of Michael (Margaret) and Frank (Mary) Scamacca, Marie (Scott Minunni) Strauss and John (Tina), Dan (Ann Marie) and Sean (Jenn) Glennon; cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren, dear great-grandfather of 4 great-grandchildren; loving son of the late Francesco and Ida (nee Cirrito) Scamacca; dearest brother of Fran Schultz and Frank Scamacca and the late Sam, Jim, Louie, Mickey Barth and Jean Main; also survived by many nieces, nephews, his canine companion Luca, and a host of friends. Michael was very involved in the community. He was the 1986 recipient of the Sertoman of the Year Award where he was the charter president of the Ken-Ton Sertoma. Within this club, he was responsible for cultivating the growth of the organizations fundraising programs which support the clubs many sponsorship programs. In addition to the Sertoma, he was charter president of the Marconi Italian American Club and served as a delegate to the Federation of Italian American Societies. He was also a former member of Council 3076, Knights of Columbus, the Alhambra, Cordova Caravan 26 and served on the Barnibite Foundation Committee. He also served as Northtowns co-ordinator for Gov. Mario Cuomos successful 1982 gubnatorial election campaign. Relatives and friends may visit the Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. (near Eggert/ Sheridan Dr.) on Monday, February 12 from 3-7pm.
