(Blacker) (nee Voigt) Of Buffalo, at age 93, was promoted to Heaven on November 7, 2013. Born June 8, 1920 to John and Caroline Voigt. When Millie was five months old, her mother Caroline died of influenza. John married Anne Macholz, Caroline's sister. Anne Voigt was a loving mother to Millie and Edward, their adopted son, until their deaths. Millie was pre-deceased by her brother Edward of Arizona and by her sister Edna Bilello of Long Island, who was John's daughter by a previous marriage. Millie met her husband Joseph C. Molnar when they both worked at Otis Elevator. They later adopted Darlene F. Molnar in 1951, their only child. Darlene considers it a blessing by God to have been raised and loved by her devoted Mom and Dad. Joseph was later stricken with Multiple Sclerosis in his thirties, and Millie lovingly cared for him until his death at age 57 in 1976. For many years Millie worked at Lincoln Park Pharmacy Drugstore and every customer that came through the door became Millie's friend. Although she was caring for her invalid husband, she always had a joke, a smile, or a hug for everyone. They called her "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and Lucille Ball was her idol. She later met her second husband Warren Blacker and they married on a beach in Hawaii. He was a wonderful husband and they traveled, entertained, and golfed until his death at age 64. Widowed for the second time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, making beautiful ceramics and playing Canasta until macular degeneration took away her sight. She also had a life long love for her crazy and beloved Boston Terriers. She cherished the last 22 years of her life spent with her special "gentlemen friend" and constant companion, Norton Vesper of Clarence. They met at Quarry Hill Estates in Newstead, where they both had homes. She relished their many weekends spent at Nort's country retreat in East Otto, having great times with his country neighbors. She loved him dearly and looked forward to every family gathering he had with his five wonderful children, their spouses, and their sweet grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her two dear sister-in-laws, Franny of Tallahassee, FL and Arlene of Lake Havasu, AZ, also her step-son Ronald (Karen) Blacker of Del Ray Oaks, CA; dear cousins, Betty Maslow of Angola, NY, George Macholz of Depew, NY, and Carol Schnepf of Florida, and a host of cherished nieces and nephews here in WNY, California, Florida, Alabama and Long Island (Aunt Millie loved you all) and many wonderful friends.
