Nadine “Hollywood” Carr

Nadine Carr, affectionately known as “Hollywood,” was born on July 23, 1953, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Ulysses Carr and Estelle Carr.

A lifelong resident of Buffalo, Nadine attended Buffalo Public School #53 and graduated from East High School. After high school, Nadine began her career in nursing, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked at Buffalo General Hospital and Deaconess Hospital until her retirement.

Nadine accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Hart Baptist Church under the leadership of the late W.L. Jones.

Nadine was affectionately known as “Hollywood” because of her unique style, confidence, and vibrant personality. She had a presence that was impossible to miss. Nadine loved to spend time with her family and just enjoy life to the fullest. She especially loved traveling, listening to music, dancing, shopping, and being outdoors.

Nadine was truly the life of the party. Her distinctive laugh and beautiful smile could light up any room. You could often find her in her community, listening to her music, sipping on a Miller, and dancing like nobody was watching. She knew how to have a good time, and wherever Nadine was, there was sure to be laughter, music, and a good time to be had.

One of Nadine’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her family and the moments they shared together. Whether she was traveling, shopping, dancing, listening to music, or simply enjoying the company of those she loved, Nadine had a way of making ordinary moments into lasting memories.

Nadine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, family, style, and unforgettable memories. Her distinctive smile, contagious laugh, vibrant spirit, and ability to enjoy life will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

Though she may no longer be with us, “Hollywood” will never be forgotten. Her memory will continue to live on through her family, her friends, and all those blessed to have crossed paths with her.
