Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Simpson) Merkling; devoted father of Russell (Mary) Merkling, David (Ruth) Merkling, Brigette Armstrong and Tasha (Chris) Merkling; cherished grandfather of James, Nicole (Justin), Ronnie, Zac and Brycen; fond great-grandfather of Camryn and Isabella; loving son of the late Edwin and Margaret Merkling; dear brother of the late Dolores Marshall, Robert (Ruth) Merkling and Edward Merkling; also survived by relatives and friends. Mr. Merkling served in the US Army during the Korean War.
