Norma May Schlueter

SCHLUETER, Norma May (nee Deck) of Tonawanda, entered into rest on April 29, 2023. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Carl A. Schlueter Sr.; devoted mother of Carl A. (Anna) Schlueter Jr., Paul M. (Gayle) Schlueter, Rene A. Schlueter, Lois M. (Lawrence) Szczesniak, Mark C. (Peggy OHanrahan) Schlueter, Mary J. (Kevin) Ransford, Lori J. (Ernie) Passaro, and Jill E. (Thomas) Valentino; cherished grandmother of 34 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; dear sister of Joan (Robert) Gebhard, and the late Marian (late Alvin) Kidder, Charles (late Lillian) Deck, and Kathleen (late Charles) Monzo; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst (near Eggert Rd.) on Monday, May 8th from 2-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, May 9th in St. Amelia RC Church, 2999 Eggert Rd., Tonawanda at 9 oclock. Please assemble at church. Entombment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Schlueter was a Girl Scout Leader from 1968 to 2008 with Troop 1117 Junior. Throughout her time, she traveled with the Troop to Savanah, GA, Montreal, Boston, MA, and Switzerland, where she stayed at the Girl Scout Chalet at age 76 and was the oldest person to zip line. Mrs. Schlueter was also a member of St. Annes Parish, and graduated from East High School. She worked in the Priest home as a cook and did office work. She married Carl on May 30, 1953 and went on to have 8 children, 34 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Amelias Church and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
