Patricia Ann Pilat-Avent nee Kaczor passed away on February 5, 2026, surrounded by love and the presence of her family. A pillar of strength and love for her family, she was the beloved wife of the late James Avent and a devoted mother. Patricia is survived by her son Michael (Melissa) and her daughter Patricia. She was preceded in death by her sons Robert and Alan, whom she held forever in her heart. She was a cherished grandmother to Alex (Jennifer) Pilat, Marta (Scott) Owen, Sarah (Nick) Scheetz, Shannon (Paul) Reed, Erin Gault, Colleen (David) Basil, Wade (Stephanie) Gault, Kelley (Daniel) Camann, Thomas Gault, Kaitlyn Gault, Briana (Manny) Abeyta, Kevin Gault, Robert, Kirk, Charlene, Ashley, Max and Taylor Pilat. She was also a loving great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren. Patricia was the dear sister of the late Alvin (Glennis) Kaczor, late Walter (Natalie) Kaczor, and Diane Kaczor. A fiercely dedicated mother and the heart of her home, Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering resilience in the face of life’s challenges, her incredible sense of humor, and the comfort found in her amazing hugs and legendary pierogies that brought her family together.
Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst (near Eggert Rd.) on Tuesday Feb. 10, from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Assumption of the Blessed Church, 435 Amherst St., Buffalo, NY 14207 on Wednesday Feb. 11, at 10 AM. Please assemble at church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
