YOUNG - Paul A. Of Orchard Park, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022 at his home after a long struggle with many issues. Beloved husband of Veronica A. (nee Bahorsky) Young; devoted father of Marc (Kelly) Young; cherished grandfather of Nikolai and James; loving son of the late Edward Sr. and Dorothy Young; dear brother of Edward Jr. (Lois) Young; also survived by relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Wednesday from 2-5 PM where Military Honors will immediately follow. Mr. Young was a Navy Veteran. Paul was the love of our lives, humorous, intelligent, generous, and loving. He was always there for so many others and found the most joy in his family. He loved his two grandchildren immensely, and a big joy was playing pirates with his two grandsons. Pauls proudest achievements in eduation include having granduated with a BS from Buffalo State, a Masters in Eduation from Canisius College, and his ED.d in Science Education from the University of Georgia. He served in the Navy for six years as an officer aboard the USS Genesee, and taught in several area schools while completing his degrees, including teaching in Georgia. He taught in the Education Department of Canisius College for 40 years, having been chairperson for several terms. Paul was also project director and obtained grants for many programs that teamed teachers with the museum of science. He also authored a book, Niagara Falls Survivor of the Ice Age. He was a member of many related educational associations involved in numerous community activities, and a recipient of the Kenneth L. Koessler Distinguished Faculty Award for excellence in teaching as well as a Professor Emeritus from Canisius College. He was loved by so many colleagues and students. His latest activity was to honor his great- grandfather, Joseph Young, who was a member of the Civil War 21st Infantry out of Buffalo, and he was active in the Sons of the Veterans of the Civil War.
