ODOM - Phyllis (nee Cosentino) It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Phyllis Odom, of Cheektowaga, NY on December 24, at the age of 80 after an extensive battle with Lymphoma. Phyllis is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Lee Odom and her parents Charles and Rose Cosentino. She is survived by her siblings Charles Cosentino and Patrice (Kevin) Verrall. Loving mother to Jim (Renee), Sheri (Vance) Hawley, Rob (Simone), Maria (Mark) Yebernetsky. Doting grandmother to Casey (Adam) Frank, Nick Hawley, Ben, Matt, Sadie, Sofia Odom and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Adam (JR) and Mamie-Rose Frank. Loving Aunt to Alicia (Johnathan) Weber, Alexis and Brett Verrall. Phyllis was an avid gardener and self-taught pianist, who loved painting, reading, and cooking. Never one to be idle, she was up for all adventures including touring the country with her husband Lee on their motorcycle and wine tours and rock concerts into her 80s. Phyllis was the family matriarch, the sun that we revolved around. She was the curator of traditions, and loved passing them down to the next generations. A genial hostess, all visitors were welcome and few escaped without a meal and a libation. She retired from NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Throughout her life Phyllis volunteered with numerous organizations including Southline Little League, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Meals on Wheels, and Hospice; she also served as a Girl Scout leader and religious educator. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Monday (January 2nd) from 2:30 to 5:30 PM. A memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Prayer Service Your browser does not support this video format.
