Richard S. Ebeling

d. September 24, 2023

Richard entered into rest September 24, 2023 just 6 months after the love of his life Rose Mary Ebeling passed away. Beloved father to Richard and wife Tamara, son David and wife Michele, son Mark, son Joseph and wife Kim (Bunny), daughter Rose and husband Dan, grandchildren Melinda, Mark and wife Alicia, Ashley and fianc Brad, Michael, Samantha, Alyssa, Hannah, Joey, Morgan, Daniel, great grandson Myles, loving son of the late Mary (late Salvatore) LaCorte and late Charles Ebeling, dear brother of Dolores (Mark) Tartaro, also survived by nieces, nephews, and best friends of over 50 years, Ed and Alice Ward. Richard grew up in Buffalo, NY where he met the love of his life, Rose Mary and started their beautiful family. When Richard was younger he started working by shining shoes at the train station, from there he did cement work with his Uncle Pete at age 15. He then drove a UPS truck and also had a Tops vending machine company and sold gum balls. As Richard and Rosemarys family grew, they opened up a Dunkin donut shop across from Cazenovia Park that later became Grandmas Donuts. A few years later, they opened up a Black Angus, which soon became Grandmas Pancake House on Seneca St in West Seneca. This was around the time he met his life-long best friend Ed Ward. Ed worked for the Buffalo News and did his advertising. Years later, Richard and Rose opened Grandmas Restaurant on Main St in Buffalo. As more grandchildren became a part of the family, they bought Dannys Restaurant on Genesee St in Cheektowaga in 1991; and in 1998, expanded the corporation to include Dannys South on Abbott Rd in Orchard Park. Throughout these years you would have saw Mr. E standing at the front desk at the Airport location taking names and reservations. Mr. E will be remembered as being a very strong business man, a very generous friend and a very devoted and loving husband, father, Papa, uncle and cousin throughout his 85 years. We will also remember him for his love of trains, taking his family to Florida every year and his dogs Missy and Daisy, who will miss him dearly. Friends and family may visit at Lombardo Funeral Home (Abbott Rd) on Wednesday, October 4 from 3-8pm. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 5 at St. Bernadette Church, 5930 S. Abbott Rd., Orchard Park at 9am.
