It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Richard D. Murphy, who peacefully left this life at the age of 84 on a Sunday, the day of the Lord. He now rests in the eternal embrace of heaven, reunited with his loving mother and father.

A proud veteran of the Korean War & Vietnam War, Richard D. Murphy exemplified courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Throughout his life, he was a loving father to Kim, Kathy, and Paul, and a caring grandfather to Jeremiah, Gianna, Andrew, Jed, Kaylee, Kyle and more. His warmth, compassion, and selflessness touched all who knew him.

Richard D. Murphy was known for his loving nature and his unwavering willingness to put others before himself. His kindness, integrity, and gentle spirit left a lasting legacy, and he will be dearly missed by family and friends.

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life and the countless ways he made the world a better place. We find comfort in knowing he is now at peace, resting in the presence of the Lord. Rest in peace, dear Richard D. Murphy, and may your soul find eternal tranquility in heaven.

Relatives and friends may visit the Salvation Army (46 Broad St. North Tonawanda) on Wednesday, May 6 from 4-6pm, where military honors will follow. Interment Western New York National Cemetery.
