Richard F. Schmelz of North Tonawanda passed away on February 19, 2026.

He was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife, Carol Schmelz; his son, Karl Schmelz; and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Maryann Schmelz (Reformat). Richard's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Carter, Ayden, and Sonja.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel) at 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. on Saturday, March 7, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service with Air Force honors will immediately follow the visitation.
