Rita M. Metzger

Metzger, Rita January 14, 2021, took her final bow at age 97. She was a veteran of many years on Broadway and retired from the New York City Opera Company in 1994. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Mary (nee Burgoyne) Metzger, her brother James A. and nephew James R. She is survived by her loving nieces Nancy (late Michael) Guercio, Judith (late Thomas) LaBrake, Laurie (David) Krajewski, and Nancy (late James) Metzger. Rita also had many great nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her. She was a kind, generous, and caring person who brought joy to many with her singing. She was also an artist and excellent seamstress. Donations in her name may be made to Hospice or the SPCA. Private funeral will be held at a later date.
