Rita Thomas

Thomas, Rita, 90, of North Buffalo, entered into rest on March 27, 2024. Beloved wife of 67 years to Richard A. Thomas Sr., devoted mother of Richard A. Thomas, Jr. (Katherine ODonnell) and Rebecca A. (Jon) Christie; cherished grandmother of Jillian M. (Alexander) Vilardo, Spencer W. Thomas and the late Mia Larin Christie; adored great-grandmother of Alesandra and Serafina Vilardo; loving daughter of the late Felice and Louisa (nee Sgambota) DiPalma; dear sister of the late Mary, Anita, Josephine, Ann, Sally, Andrew and Ralph DiPalma; survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. First and foremost, Rita adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sports, travel and to entertain. Rita retired from the Buffalo Board of Education as a Teachers Aide after over 20 years of dedicated service. Relatives and friends may visit St. John the Baptist Church, 1085 Englewood Ave. Kenmore on Tuesday, April 2 from 11am-12pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be immediately celebrated after at 12pm.
