Robert 'Bob' Dromerhauser

June 27, 1948 — November 11, 2022

On November 11, 2022, died at home surrounded by his wife of 42 years, Dianne (nee Koudelka) Dromerhauser, and in-laws, James and Gail Koudelka; and Gerald and Astrid Koudelka. He was 74 years old. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and two fur-babies, Alfred "Puss-Puss" and Luna "Squeaks". Babe, you made us laugh. And the squirrels miss you too. Bob was born on June 27, 1948 in NY, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary (nee Kranepool) Dromerhauser of Franklin Square, NY; Symbi (Bopolis); Whiskey (Wickerman); Mr. Peets; and his 55 Chevy. Bob was fortunate to spend many years working on his passion, researching and restoring the USS Croaker SSK 246. An honorary member of the USSVI, Bob was awarded the Robert Link Award. He was also recognized by the ASR/ARS Diving Assoc. for his dedication as Bob was instrumental in having the Croaker designated on NY State and National Register of Historic Places. During the "Summer of Croaker-mania", Bob worked with a local TV station on a WWII veterans tribute program that included a profile of his work, which still echoes in space. Early in his career, Bob worked on lunar exploration equipment which remains on the moon. And now, he is stardust. A memorial service will be held at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, Buffalo NY from where Bob will depart on Eternal Patrol. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care, Buffalo (hospicebuffalo.com).
