Carr, Robert J., 92, of Kenmore, passed peacefully at his home with his beloved fiancé Donna Gauthier, on June 13, 2026. Loving son of the late Nick and Annie (nee Dempsey) Carr; dear brother of Donna (Daniel) Flaherty, Nancy (late Marvin) Smith, and the late Charles (Ruth) Carr, James Carr, Marion (Leonard) Thompson, Norma (Joseph) Girard, and Frances (Anthony) Gauthier-Demarie; dear brother-in-law of Patricia Carr; adored godfather of Daniel (Leayn) Flaherty and Patricia (Edward) Melber; special loving uncle of John (Ann Marie) Girard; fond uncle of Donna (Michael) Callaghan, Thomas (Kathleen) Flaherty, Patrick (Kathleen) Smith, James Smith, Erin (Robert Byers Jr.) Drexinger, James (Jennifer) Carr, Anna (Justin) Kanaley, Susie Carr, David (Robin) Gauthier, Jay Drexinger, and the late Joseph (Theresa) Girard, Thomas Carr, Judith Carr, Dalton Gauthier, Michael Girard, and too many great and great-great nieces and nephews to list. Also survived by many family and friends.
Robert worked as a fireman and then an engineer for CONRAIL (originally Western New York Central) Railroad and retired in 1996 after 45 years of service. He was a union member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Mr. Carr was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion.
Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, (near Eggert Rd./Sheridan Dr.) Thursday (June 18) from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 AM at St. Paul RC Church, 33 Victoria Boulevard, Kenmore, NY. Please assemble at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to either the Niagara or Buffalo Hospice and Palliative Care associations, online at www.niagarahiospice.org or www.hospicebuffalo.com or to an animal rescue or any organization of your choosing.
