Of Amherst, entered into rest July 22, 2015, loving son of the late Emma (nee Duerr) Mertz; dear brother of the late Charles (late Evelyn) Mertz Jr.; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert/Sheridan Dr. on Friday from 2-4 PM. Funeral service will immediately follow. Interment St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
