Roger
Barclay
Sep 21, 1957 — Nov 6, 2026
Of Buffalo, NY entered into peace on November 6, 2026. Beloved husband of Patricia Barclay; devoted father of Jason Barclay and Tara (Anthony Acuna) Barclay; cherished grandfather of Brendan, Lucas, and Evan; dear brother of William, Audrey, Scott, and Beth; also survived by many loving family and friends.
Roger was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He took great pride in his career as a corrections officer, a profession he genuinely loved. When he wasn’t working, he was happiest spending time outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of nature.
A devoted sports fan, Roger faithfully cheered on his beloved Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Yankees. Through the wins, the losses, and the occasional heartbreak that comes with being a Buffalo sports fan, his loyalty never wavered.
Roger also had a special place in his heart for his dogs. In fact, anyone who knew him knew there was a pretty good chance he liked his dogs more than most people and he wasn’t afraid to admit it. His love for his four-legged companions was just one of the many things that made Roger uniquely himself. Above all, Roger leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory.
Roger lived life on his own terms, enjoyed the things he loved, and never needed anything fancy to be happy. He will be remembered for his personality, his passions, his love for his family, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Though he may no longer be here to cheer on his teams, cast another fishing line, or spend another afternoon with his dogs, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rest easy, Roger. May the fish always be biting, the dogs always be waiting, and the Bills finally win that Super Bowl.
