Ronald N. Steinbrenner, a beloved local artist, Air Force veteran, business owner, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at the age of 90.
Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean (Satterley) Steinbrenner, who passed away in 2021. Together, they raised a close-knit and loving family who continue to carry forward his values and stories.
He was the proud and loving father of Ronni Littleton, Judy Jacobi, Eric (Kelly) Steinbrenner, Terri (Kevin) Ryan, Chris (Sue Blasko) Steinbrenner, and Scott (Ashlee) Steinbrenner.
He was a cherished grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 24, with one more on the way. Brother of Margaret Jankowski, Leona Charters and the late Joyce Heisler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born on March 30, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, Ron grew up with a strong sense of service, community, and creativity that would shape the rest of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, carrying with him the discipline and dedication he learned during his service into every aspect of his life. While stationed in Patchogue, Long Island he met the love of his life.
After returning home, Ron established a successful electrical business in the Tonawanda area, where he became well known not just for his skill and reliability, but for his good humor and personal warmth. He was a true people person—approachable, quick-witted, and always ready with a laugh or a helping hand.
Beyond his trade, Ron was a talented artist and quilter, bringing color and craftsmanship to every piece he created. His artwork and quilts were more than hobbies; they were heartfelt expressions of his creativity and care. As a member of the Tonawanda Council of the Arts, he contributed to the very first annual Canal Fest.
Ron was deeply generous, giving freely to local causes and organizations, often without recognition. He believed in lifting others up and strengthening his community in any way he could.
Above all, Ron was a loving and devoted family man. He treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family, and found great joy in sharing stories & laughter.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and artistry that touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street, Tonawanda, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the City of Tonawanda Public Library, 333 Main Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150—a place that reflected his lifelong appreciation for learning and community.
