Ruth E. Jones

Born on November 17, 1924, Ruth Elizabeth Hughes went from the family farm near Dansville, N.Y., to the University of Buffalo at age 15. Marriage to the late Dr. Melvin C Reinhard, Jr. brought two daughters, Susan Wilson (the late Bob) of Denver, Colorado, and Marsha Whittington (Scott) of Hamilton, Ontario. Ruth's third daughter, Lise (Keith) Mann of Lancaster, was born during her second marriage to the late Henry K. Schroeder. Four sons were added to Ruth's family with her marriage to the late Robert R Jones: Bruce (Anne) of Tonawanda, Craig (Pamela) of Williamsville, Doug (Susie) of Post Falls, Idaho, and Eric (Barbara) of North Reading, Massachusetts. Ruth will also be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister Hilda Carney of West Henrietta, N.Y. After graduating UB with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a masters in rehab counseling, Ruth became licensed as a school psychologist. She worked many years for the Lockport and then the Wilson school districts.

Residents of Canterbury Woods in Williamsville, Ruth and Bob Jones enjoyed active retirement years traveling the world and spending time at their cottage at the Chautauqua Institution. Ruth was a passionate Life Master duplicate bridge player and a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Buffalo. Ruth was the beloved matriarch of our family and she will be forever missed.
