Sally A. Heinz of West Valley, NY passed away on August 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Monday, December 30, 1935 in North Tonawanda to the late Elmer D. and Winifred (nee Frank) Ford. Sally graduated from West Valley Central School in 1953. On November 26, 1953 she married Lawrence E. Heinz in West Valley at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a member. After 13 years raising kids, she re-entered the work force as a book keeper for the family business, Ford Brothers. In 1996 she retired and spent time living life by traveling nationally and internationally with her brother Jim, along with spending time with family. Sally was an avid cook, read countless novels, an accomplished knitter and seamstress, and liked to grow flowers to brighten up a room. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Dewey and Winifred (nee Frank) Ford; brother Thomas and Kathy (nee Ehman) Ford; and husband Lawrence E. Heinz. She is survived by her children Lawrence D. (Karen) Heinz of Eden, NY, JoAnne M. Heinz of Dallas, TX, Barbara A. (Steve) Weronski of Fuquay-Varina NC, Betti J. (Ken) Dunkleman of Cheetowaga, NY, Daniel J. Heinz (Elena Marangos) of Williamsville, NY, Diane E. (Jim) Hixson of Shortsville, NY, Jonathan M. (Wendy) Heinz of Dunkirk, NY; brothers James (Byrta) Ford, Robert (Lenore) Ford and Richard (Dawn) Ford; grandmother to nine and great grandmother to ten; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sallys family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Rhonda Hoppel, West Valley Ambulance and EMT crew, Cattaraugus County Department of Aging and Cattaraugus County Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 28 at Bingham Hall 5381 Depot St. West Valley, NY. Family will receive friends at 2:00 and Celebration of Life at 3:00 followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to West Valley Volunteer Hose Company, PO Box 49, West Valley, NY 14171.
